What I’ve accomplished
Since my project post, where I committed to the Polyglots team and to translating the Automation Web Platform plugin into Costa Rican Spanish (es_CR), I’ve completed the core of that work. I translated 106 strings, submitted them for review, and all of them were approved without issues and merged into the plugin’s es_CR locale.
Obstacles and how I handled them
The main challenge wasn’t the volume of strings but the consistency. Translating notifications means the same terms order, account, status, notification show up again and again, and if I translated them differently each time the result would feel disjointed. To handle this I set a small set of terminology rules up front and stuck to them across all 106 strings, choosing wording that reads naturally in Costa Rica rather than defaulting to generic Spanish.
What’s still ahead
The translation deliverable is complete, so the remaining work is around it: documenting the process cleanly for the program, and finishing the reflection and wrap-up posts. I also want to keep an eye on the strings in case the plugin adds new ones that need localizing, Polyglots contribution isn’t really “finished,” it’s ongoing.
On pacing
I’m on track with where I expected to be at this point — the main deliverable is accepted and live, which is the piece I was most concerned about. If anything shifts before wrap-up, I’ll flag it to my mentor early rather than waiting until the end.
